Member Price: $13.46
Oversized postcards featuring reproductions of artwork by Robert Rauschenberg, an artist in MOCA’s collection.
From the spring of 1958 until the fall of 1960, Robert Rauschenberg (American, 1925-2008) ambitiously produced a set of 34 illustrations responding to the cantos of the medieval epic Dante's Inferno. Connecting the sensory world of poetry with a vision of contemporary hell, Rauschenberg rendered each canto of this poem through modern-day images culled from popular illustrated magazines that he later embellished with pencil, crayon, wash, and gouache.
