The latest Zine from artist Jennifer West – who has published fifteen artist zines and books. This holographic cover, glow-in-the-dark fluorescent spiral bound zine started with an “Analogital” Venn Diagram. It delves into the blended relationship of the machinic and electronic, the analog and digital, the transferred and scanned, the eco-processed, sun-exposed and the digitally printed, the holographic and the risograph, the liquid and gaseous. The zine is comprised of West’s venn diagrams filtered with “liquid perception” and “gaseous perception”, scans of pieces of smashed broken screens, scans of filmstrip phytograms, diagrams and book pages using collaged effects of risograph printing, digital phone collage, software and physical holographic paper. West is a Los Angeles-based artist, known for her use of unusual materials who has explored materialism in film for over fifteen years. Her installations, digital films, mixed media works, zines and lectures have taken on the subject of memory and media archaeology since 2014.
