Created in tandem with her 2014 installation "A Subtlety" at the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, pivotal contemporary artist Kara Walker's collaboration with Bernardaud features a limited-edition porcelain pitcher made in commemoration of this monumental show. The profile adorned on the ceramic pitcher recalls the sphinx-like sculpture that stood as the centerpiece of the installation.

"A Subtlety or the Marvelous Sugar Baby" ran from May to July 2014, and served as an homage to: "the unpaid and overworked Artisans who have refined our Sweet tastes from the cane fields to the Kitchens of the New World."
