Arthur Jafa Print "Skittles"

MOCA is pleased to present Arthur Jafa's new work "Skittles" (2003, printed 2021), sold exclusively to support the museum's mission to present and preserve the art of our time.

This limited edition print will be available to the first 100 individuals who join or renew at the Curators Circle- level ($1,500) or higher.

In this photograph, Jafa revisits an image captured almost two decades earlier. The nearly monochromatic city street is punctuated by moments of color from a discarded candy wrapper. In the interlude from when this image was taken and when it was printed, Skittles, as referenced in the title, has taken on a larger symbolic meaning representing the innocence of Trayvon Martin.
