LOCAL Ceramics: Ben Medansky Posted on 6 May 11:03
Up-and-coming LA ceramicist Ben Medansky has been trailblazing the LA design world and gaining notoriety with substantial momentum these days. In the past few months, he has been featured in New York Magazine, as well as LA’s own KCRW. In the short two years since starting his own business after apprenticing with respected artists such as Peter Shire and Anthony Pierson, design-advocates are taking note and praising the work of the new generation of ceramic artists, and Medansky is one of the front-runners. His aesthetic is unique in its own right — oblong forms grace earthenware vessels, trays, and cups with shrewdly carved negative spaces, or zany forms stuck onto speckled wares.
His works are on display and for sale at the MOCA Grand Ave location.
